Work Shoe Hawaii

Went to get new slip resistant shoes for my CNA job, the staff were friendly and extremely helpful! I was immediately greeted, sized, and offered suggestions. The customer area is quite tiny which means somewhat limited amount of shoes on display, but they quickly retrieved my size from their inventory. They had good selection of brands and price range for work shoes. My fiance also found what he wanted quickly with their help. Great store to find the work shoes you need!

This is the best shoe buying experience I’ve had even compared to the top of the line stores I’ve bought from before! Very knowledgeable and helpful. I walked in the store literally 7 minutes before they were supposed to close, asked if they were gonna close up and they stayed open a whole 15min later to help me get what I need. My work shoes finally gave out and I need a new pair ASAP. Thank god I drove the route I did and saw them while I was on my way to the “top of the line” competitor store. Will come here and recommend Work Shoe Hawaii from now on!

TL;DR - Poor customer service, charging above retail, limited selection, limited sizes, no color choices. We had seen lots of great reviews for the store, and were planning on buying shoes when we went in. Their selection was limited to one shoe in one color, so we were going to buy it to support local businesses even though the shoe wasn't the brand we wanted. We sat for a minute to look at the manufacturer website to see if the shoe came in any other colors so we could order them through the store if there was a color we liked. The staff had been very kind up until this point but suddenly all three of the staff (despite the others being with customers) in rapid fire tried to shame us for looking online saying "We're not a place to just try on stuff. We're a local business and to keep our prices down if you're not going to buy it you shouldn't even come in. Don't waste our time." They then grabbed the shoe and took it away, so we left. I was suspicious about this behaviour, and so I looked up the exact shoe price online. Turns out they were charging more than retail - even the manufacturer was selling it for $60 less. No wonder they acted that way, and I'm glad we didn't buy there. I love supporting local businesses, but not when they treat customers like the enemy. We ended up going to another local shop and buying a better shoe there.
